How long is 1 session?
Sessions won't be longer than an hour. I have some clients who want a session done as quickly as possible, and I'm able to get a variety of pictures, poses, and backgrounds in a short amount of time. I have other clients who love the entire process of the sessions and want to enjoy as much time as possible with a session. Rather than charge per hour, I charge per session. This helps me individualize sessions per client to what will make them the happiest. When everyone feels like we have what we need, we'll wrap up and I'll get to work on your photos!
Will my photos have a watermark (logo on them)?
Nope! You’ve paid for your photo session, the rights to those photos are yours! While I do appreciate being credited for my photos, I don’t feel that the right way to do that is by placing my logo on your pictures. Watermarks get in the way of those special memories.
What is the turnaround time for my photos?
Standard photo session turnaround is 1-2 weeks max (most often, you will have them within one week of your session, but sometimes things get crazy with booking, so I allow myself the extra week just in case it is absolutely necessary.
How will I get my photos?
You will be sent a link that is good for 2 weeks with all of your photos included. Instead of trying to send them over an email or text, where the quality of the photos lessens every time they are sent from one device to another, having a link allows you to see the photos to retain their high quality. This also allows you to choose and download as many photos as you would like from your session! If you’re anything like me, I have to have them all, but I know there are also people who don’t want a million photos and would prefer to pick their favorites!
Do you offer prints?
Absolutely! I offer several different print packages upon request, or the link you use to download your photos will have print option available for you to choose from as well. Ordering prints off my site makes sure they will come exactly as you’d like without having to deal with rotating, cropping, quality, and all of the other complications of having them printed elsewhere.
How many photos will I get from my session?
This varies with each session and depends a lot on the client! Everyone has a different personality. Some want thousands and are posing every second they can get while others just want to have fun and capture the most special moments from their session. That being said, there is no set number on how many photos you will get from your session, but I can assure you that you will receive lots from any of the sessions you choose. I will never set a cap on how many photos you can receive per session.
Why do you like to have a FaceTime/Zoom meeting with your clients before sessions?
By doing a Zoom or FaceTime meeting, I get to know you better. I get to know your style, find out the story we are telling, and learn more about your personality. I don’t just want all of my sessions to tell a story, I want my sessions to tell YOUR story. This prepares me a little more to know how to capture your photos and helps my clients feel more comfortable during their session.
Will it be awkward?
Never! It’s all about having a good time and creating memories! I know a lot of people that are camera-shy and don’t know how exactly to pose in front of a camera. This is where I come in. Let me do my job and make it easier for you. I like to do a FaceTime or Zoom with all of my clients before any of my sessions. It is totally optional, but it allows me to get to know you, your vision, what kind of story we are telling, and allows me to prepare on my end with everything I would need to ensure you will have fun and feel comfortable during your entire session.
How will I know how to pose?
Whether you are a natural or don’t know what to do, I promise to make everything fun and easy-going. I can give you some posing ideas to do that will feel 100% natural or just let you do your thing with your own poses! By doing a FaceTime or Zoom meeting with all of my clients (totally optional, but highly recommended), I get to know my clients better. I discover a little more about their personalities, experiences, and what may be needed to enhance our photo shoot. You will never have to stand on a piece of tape and angle your head or neck weird and have to stare awkwardly into a camera, I can guarantee that! Everything we do during your session will feel natural and fun.
Do I get to pick the location, or will you choose one?
This is totally up to you! If you have a spot in mind, send it over to me so I can check it out ahead of time! Don’t know where to go? That’s okay! I know some gorgeous spots that are perfect for all types of photo sessions!
Will my wedding video just be a slideshow of pictures or an actual video?
Wedding videos will be so much more than just a slideshow! A couple examples of things you might find on your video are the reveals (if you do a reveal before the wedding), the bride walking down the aisle, the groom’s reaction, cutting the cake, bouquet toss, special dances throughout the reception as well as all the fun dancing, highlights from getting ready, and so much more! Wedding videos reflect your day, so there are endless possibilities as to what your wedding video will include. Special effects will be added to the video as well, so it won’t just be rough cuts of random videos together. Your wedding video will flow and be full of memories and emotions.
What if my reception is on a different day than my wedding?
No worries! This happens a lot. An additional $40 covers my cost of traveling (within an hour of my location in Columbia City, IN and $5 for each additional 10 minutes of driving) for the two separate days. The wedding pricing still covers up to five hours, so if your wedding and getting ready process are 3 hours and the reception is 2 hours, you’re still covered. Add any extra hours onto that 5 hours for $100/hour and I’ll be there to cover as much time as you need!
Why do you require a booking deposit?
A booking deposit secures your spot on my schedule and ensure we don’t have any no-show situations. I’m preparing to make your photo shoot fun and special and have already invested time and energy before your shoot begins. Your deposit keeps both you and I accountable in making this a fun time.
When do I pay the second half of my deposit?
The second half of your deposit is paid before you receive your photos. You can pay it any time after your photo session, or wait until I let you know that your pictures are ready.
Why is my deposit non-refundable?
I put a lot of time and energy into the preparation of all of my photo sessions to ensure my clients will have a great time with wonderful results. The booking fee makes sure I don’t have no-show situations, while the non-refundable policy makes sure I don’t fill my schedule with sessions that end up being cancelled or clients that just stop communicating with me altogether. It keeps my clients and me accountable.
What is a 20% rebooking fee, and why do you have one?
The rebooking fee ensure that we don’t have last-minute cancellations or clients requesting to reschedule repeatedly. If I have a 2-week notice, I don’t charge a rebooking fee and work with you on our schedule (I understand life happens). When you request to reschedule without a 2-week notice, it makes it more difficult for me to fill the empty spot in my schedule. Because you’re holding a spot in my schedule, none of my other clients will have that time slot available. If there is an emergency that requires the rebooking, just talk to me! I work things out on a case-by-case situation, and if it truly is an emergency the caused our session to need rebooking, you won’t be required to pay a fee for something like that.
Have more questions? Send me a message on the “Contact/Booking” section of this site! I’d love to talk more!
